Coldani Family Vineyards has applied to San Joaquin County to construct a winery and olive mill in two phases over five years at the southeast corner of Kingdon and Thornton roads, southwest of Lodi.

The Coldanis also request permission to have 12 special events per year, but with no amplified music. Loud music has caused complaints against wineries the past few years.

The first phase calls for construction of an 11,050-square-foot building to include a wine- and olive oil-tasting room, bottling and grape crushing, commercial kitchen and an olive mill. The second phase calls for a 1,500-square-foot storage building.

The county Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the county Public Health/Planning Auditorium, 1601 E. Hazelton Ave., Stockton.
